The red carpet at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival welcomed another unforgettable fashion moment as Alessio Filippelli arrived at the Sala Grande for the screening of Scherzetto, commanding attention in a custom look created by Indonesian designers Mai Co.
For his first Venice Biennale red carpet, Filippelli chose to make a statement that went beyond the expected. The look, entirely custom-made by Mai Co, brought together the designers’ distinctive approach to contemporary fashion with a highly personal red-carpet sensibility, creating a silhouette that felt theatrical, sophisticated and unmistakably his.
The Indonesian fashion house took center stage in the styling, with the custom creation serving as the defining element of Filippelli’s Venice appearance. Complementing the look were jewelry by Davide Pini DP Gioielli, shoes by Alexander McQueen, and grooming by Francesco Lamonaca, bringing together an international team around a look designed specifically for the occasion.
But the fashion moment did not end at the carpet.

As photographers called his name and cameras turned toward him, Filippelli also made time for the people waiting beyond the barricades. Spotting a group of fans who had been waiting for him, he ran over to greet them, stopping to say hello and share the moment before making his way back toward the screening.
It was a gesture that captured something central to Filippelli’s approach to his growing international career: the spectacle may happen on the red carpet, but the connection with the people watching from the other side of it matters just as much.
The Venice appearance also marked an important moment in Filippelli’s ongoing relationship with Campari Italia, who invited him to the Festival. The collaboration between the actor, model and creative director and the iconic Italian brand has developed over several years across international projects and events.
Reflecting on his first Venice red carpet, Filippelli says:

«Per il mio primo red carpet durante la Biennale di Venezia sono stato invitato da Campari Italia, con la quale collaboro ormai da diversi anni a livello internazionale. Per me non è solo una partnership: è come tornare a casa».
That sense of familiarity stood in contrast to the significance of the evening itself. Venice represents one of the world’s most closely watched intersections of cinema, fashion and culture, and Filippelli’s debut on its red carpet arrived at a moment when his presence is increasingly extending across all three worlds.
For the occasion, however, fashion remained the language through which he chose to speak.
With Mai Co at the heart of the look, Filippelli brought an Indonesian design perspective to one of the most photographed red carpets in the world, highlighting the increasingly global conversation taking place within contemporary fashion. The decision to work with the designers also reflects his longstanding interest in emerging and international creative voices, particularly those bringing a distinct visual identity to the global stage.

By the time he entered the Sala Grande, the moment had already become more than a festival appearance: it was a meeting of cinema, international fashion, Italian heritage and the audience that continues to follow Filippelli’s evolution.
For his first Venice red carpet, Alessio Filippelli did not simply arrive.
He made an entrance.
